Have 2006 Suzuki DF115. There is no hour meter on the boat. The keyed ignition/start switch for the boat has three (3) positions; OFF, ON and START.
The previous owner or boat manufacturer wired the AM/FM radio such that the key has to be in the on position to get the AM/FM radio to play (have since rewired to a direct feed from the battery with a fused link).
My question is this: Over the years when the previous owner was using this boat and motor listening to tunes on the water with the key in the on position but with with the motor not running/off was the ECM recording hours because the keyed ignition switch was on?
If not, how does the ECM recognize/record actual run-time.
