serial # model# year

I am confused I have a DF300APXX 30002P-311497, What Model year is this engine 2013 or 2014. Does the serial number show model year or when it was built.

there should be a serial plate on the side of the engine mounting bracket with the manufactured date shown on it

Thanks for the response, visited the dealer and all his new engines have 2013 on them. the sales guy said they are 2014 model year, I just wanted to see if the serial # is when built or model year. I can not find anything online or Boats.net no where?????
