If you currently have an analogue trim gauge it will already be connected to the engine wiring harness.
As far as I know you cant have both an analogue and NMEA 2000 connection at once, unless you can piggy-back some wiring off the analogue plug and make a second connection/plug to connect to the interafec cable. Some people have talked about doing that but I have not seen reports of whether it actually worked or not.
If its not connected, it is usually tucked away in the front of the engine bay low down, can be hard to find in there.
Good luck and dont forget to report back with results!
I don't have an analogue trim gauge. All I'm mounting is a Troll Mode Tach...everything else will be displayed by my Furunos. It's a new install on my old Whaler.
I've looked hard for the connector and find two small looms coming from the trim: one goes into the main loom, and another is 3 wires and goes to a three wire plug?
Should the plug I'm looking for be coming from the trim sensor, or is it elsewhere?
The answer I'm told, is there is no trim gauge plug on the engine...it is at the instruments/gauges end of the wiring harness. This makes sense re analog gauge installation.
I suppose we will see what I get when I get running later this week...perhaps trim will be live via the interface main plug and the network.

Yes, every chance that the plug is up behind the dash. It should be obvious I guess.
Please let us know how you go, its good to share the solution with everyone once you have found it!
This could be totally different for you outboard... However, I have a late 2013 model DF60A. I had an impossible time getting the manual trim gauge working. I finally took it back to the dealer. He had an updated wiring diagram (not in my service manual with the 2013 addendum). Anyway, the trim sender (on my engine) is piped directly from the ECM - which evidently sends out an analog signal to the trim wire going to the console. Take a look at post #5 here. Looks like the trim information is sent via the NMEA2000 interface. I set up an NMEA2000 network on my vessel, but the Humminbird software has so far underwhelmed. Still trying to figure out how to change display on my unit...
2014 DF140A does not have a two wire trim sensor connection for the Interface at the engine, but the network DOES get trim information from the ECM so I have Trim display on my Furuno.
Timing is everything... I found an incredible deal on a Lowrance LMF-400 (Amazon - $114 - now gone). I couldn't resist and ordered. Hooked it in last night. I can confirm that it receives trim - and I have an analog gauge. The gauge is really nice!!!
I have the LMF and it does display instant fuel consumption. However, mine does not display Trim. It shows trim, but does not indicate position. Is it just a plug and play, work or not work thing? I have a 2014 250SS.
Did not have thread updates on for this... I got my LMF400 hooked in. I get fuel flow data - but have yet to figure out setting up a fuel tank. I have a temporary one now, but I don't appear to be able to get it entered. Perhaps it needs to have a fuel level sensor (NMEA2K). Will have to read up on it, but it could be related to interface or gauge firmware (interface is 2.7, gauge is 2.3; 2.8 and 2.5 are the latest, respectively). Don't have an HDS unit to do the upgrade... Work in progress, I guess... NMEA2K - plug and pay...
