I am new owner of used Suzuki DF9.9. While test running in a water barrel there was quite a bit of water coming from area at the swivel bracket lower mount and also flow from Pee Tube. Investigating I found that the thermostat was stuck open with salt deposits between valve and seat. Installed new thermostat. Now with new thermostat when I start the engine I have more flow from Pee Tube but still a small drizzle of water coming out of the area at the swivel bracket lower mount.
I disconnected hose from thermostat cover while engine was running and there was only a dripping coming from thermostat, so it appears thermostat closure is okay. I had also inspected water tube gromets as another part of the thermostat repair and they appeared to be in good condition.
Is this small drizzle I am still seeing at the lower mount area normal or do I have a problem?
