Power Tilt elctric motor failed after 200 hrs of use. No water contamination in hydraulic fluid. What could have caused it?
    Thanks for any help.

    sometimes motors just go bad.

was it a genuine factory OEM motor or aftermarket replacement?

them aftermarket motors look the same but can be low quality on the inside.

I will say this, lower then desired voltages shortens the life of any motor but that's motors that run for a while and you just don't use a power trim motor for long enough for that to be an issue I would think.

are you sure its bad? it could be the trim unit is locked up keeping it from turning

Thanks, unfortunately the "authorized dealer" did not even took it apart to check the armature or the brushes instead he sold me a $450 "new unit" with 30 days warranty (saving me $200 from the original suzuki $600) and I found out that legitimate companies are selling the exact same after market assembly for $150 with one year warranty.

bummer, well I have a complete power trim unit im selling, it slowly sinks down overnight because it needs the seals and O-rings replaced in it but it doesn't leak fluid, it just looses pressure to stay tilted up.

if you are interested its all factory oem Suzuki parts and the motor works great so you can find it here: Suzuki Power Trim and Tilt Unit 48000 87J30 for All 1999 2010 DF40 DF50 Motors | eBay
