I have a 94 Dt 40 outboard and the oil pump bleed screw was leaking. My mechanic sealed it up and bled the oil through the check valve but HIGHLY recommended mixing oil with gas. What is the exact procedure with this?

ask him the type to use (probably TCW3) and follow the mixing instructions
its been way to long for me to remember but I think it was 1oz or maybe 1/2oz per gallon or something like that and when you refill gas don't fill the tank up just estimate what you need and add oil for that then add the gas so the gas going in helps stir and mix the oil better. this way if you guess wrong, having just a little too much oil is better then not having enough.
your engine will smoke from now on and the plugs will get dirty and need changing more often but that's normal for mixed gas
