  • Tiller steering adjustment help

    I have a df40 tiller the steering is very "loose" I am sure there is a way to adjust but don't know how any help would be great

    if you mean the motor swivels too easy there is a clamp mechanism on the mid section to tighten to "losen" or "stiffen" how it pivots

      Yes swivels to easy

      Yes It turns to easy but looking at it nothing is jumping out at me as adjustable

      Any visual reference available??

        here look at the one im selling along with everything else from my DF40, http://www.ebay.com/itm/191201747389...84.m1555.l2649

        in the fourth picture you will see the silver grease zerk in the middle of the section and near the top you will see the black bolt head that ads tension to the pivot shaft. its just a squeeze clamp so you turn it a little to the right to tighten it and test then adjust as needed, you don't just tighten it all the way.

        fairly obvious if you look at it, get yourself a good service manual for it
