Help with Suzuki top mount 710 S remote box

I bought a top mount Suzuki [nos] 710 S control box and after installing it the throttle cable moves ok but the shift cable doesn't. I opened it up to for inspection and to see how it worked,didn't see what looked like a defective part but I still can't figure out why the shift arm assembly wont move.Anyone got an idea as to what might be causing the problem ?

Is button depressed on throttle lever, that will disengage shift.

The control arm will only move forward if button is depressed which moves the throttle cable.

Oh, happy day ! After re-assembling it for about the sixth time it is working. It had sat in the garage for about a year,don't know if it was stuck or some foreign matter had gotten into it. Well,at least now I know what to do if I have a problem in the future,though these things are pretty care free.
