Blinking red oil light

I took my boat out and have a blinking red oil light. I checked the oil and it is full and clean. Suggestions anyone?

What pattern is the blinking? The warning lights blink in different sequences and each sequence is a code for a particular problem. Check your owner's manual and you will find the list of codes and what they mean.

The blinking oil light would be indicating that it's time for an oil and filter change. Pull the clip on the engine kill switch, turn on the ignition key and pull the kill switch three times within ten seconds, and that should clear the blinking light. If you need to do the oil change, get that done, too.

The diagnostic blinking patterns (trouble codes) occur on the check engine light.
