1989 DT100 - Runs ok except intermitten cutting out (like turning off the ignition switch for a fraction of a second, then back on) It happens at any rpm. Recently washed up on the beach and got enough salt water/sand that I needed to disassemble the starter and clean. My boat is down in Baja and I am the mechanic. Plan on removing the flywheel and cleaning all the pickups and the flywheel mags. My question is - should I buy ($200) another cdi, or another stator assembly. What is my best bet. Checked all the connections. Runs great at all rpms except the cutting out. Of course when it cuts out at idle, it goes to 1500 for a while like when started normally. Looking for some ideas from the experienced.
