Hy,
I have two boats with suzuki's 250.
They are verry good engines,one has 1700 houers and the other one has got 1600 houers.
There are a few things that must be chequed.
When taking of the back of the air intake we have notice that there where 4 screws,(and the others where loose ) missing on the butterffly valves,explaining why we had twice are spark plugs closed in the bottm cylinder on the richt.
The reason why we have opend this is because the engine was not going above 4000rpm,because the valve was not opening.
We had aswell a knocking noise once,this was when the small bolts where stuck in the outlet valves,luckely no damage done.
Last month when changing the impellor we have notice that the drive shaft was in a bad state(aswell on both the engines) so we had to change him aswell,now i think that this is normal because our boats are always loaded.
