  • DT30 aftermarket CDI

    Hi Guys,

    New on the forum.

I just acquired 2 DT30's, one of which is a little ropey.

I expect it is the CDI which has gone bust. I would like to know if anyone is aware of an aftermarket CDI for this engine.

It is a 1993 model, serial number 03003-352511 which seems to require CDI part no 32900-95D40.

I would really appreciate any info.

    Regards,

      32900 – 93310

Did anyone manage to find an alternative CDI?

I need one but a genuine one is far more than the engine is worth.
      Is anyone breaking a DT25, DT28 or DT30?

I contacted the above link (Ricks) but they don't deal with outboard CDI's

I have a dt 28 and I bought a universal cdi box that worked. It is important that it is for 2 stroke engine and a dc type. Mine was a 4 pin. Dont know if the same works on yours.

          Re: Cdi

I tried the same route and ended up dropping 250.00 on ebay to a place in Michigan. When I get the other problems fixed on my engine I'm going to de-pot the ignition and see if it is a component failure or a cold solder joint. I'll post my results.

I actually bought an older CDI than what was on my engine. The difference being one lead on the CDI was a ground lead missing on the older unit than the original one on my motor. I just made a ground strap and supplied engine ground for the missing lead and the older CDI worked fine. FYI in case you run into that problem. My engine is a '89 dt25C and I believe the DT30 has the same ignition.

Try googling your part# with item name. Often you may find used parts, just make sure they came off a running motor, that had other problems, or if they guarantee money back if part is not working.

              Good luck.

Spare part 32900 93310 suzuki oem

Thanks for your prompt answer Solarman, i do it as you recommend, i reach my cdi reference 32900 93310 suzuki cdi oem but there is no many references, and available are quote expensive, so the solution proposed by Malttis is a very good option, i would like to have the possibility to see the reference universal 4 pin of cdi and buy it, and of course see the connections.

                Thanks again
