  • Revving up when servicing

I read in my DF90A manual:

    "Oil Pressure Check:

    Engine warm up (engine speed)
    Summer: 5 min. (2 000 r/min.)
    Winter: 10 min. (2 000 r/min.)"

How do I rev-up the engine up to 2000 rpm ?

If I keep it in neutral, I cannot change the idle speed of about 700rpm

Should I shift into forward gear and keep the propeller spinning in the air?

    5) After warming up, shift into forward gear and
increase engine speed to 3 000 r/min, then compare
pressure indicated on gauge to specifications."

Is it safe to keep the propeller spinning in the air that fast?

    Thanks,

    Antonio

Assuming that you have a remote throttle at the helm, you should be able to push on the rubber centerpiece at the pivot point of the throttle lever and while holding it in, move the throttle lever to the forward "in gear" idle position, but with that rubber disc pushed in, it will still be in neutral.. From that point you can release the pressure on the rubber piece and increase throttle to your 2000 RPM. The motor will remain in neutral until you pull the lever back to the center position. As far as I know, that's the way all remote mounted gearshift/throttle controls work. Instructions should be in your owners manual.

depending on which control you have, there is a few ways to dis-engage the gear shift, usually some sort of button, also remember the motor will NOT rev very high in neutral.
