A bit more info would be helpful. Alarms, lights? What do you mean "shut down kicks in"? I know of no fault that would cause a complete shut down, only RPM reductions....to 1000 RPM or 3000 RPM, depending on the fault. Have you looked at your tank vent? Checked all fuel hoses for deterioration?
