Hi,
We ran twin 225hp on our landing craft when it first hit the water, on its maiden run the skipper managed to run into a reef damaging the props, being out at sea to fare to turn around on the trip, they continued on. By unfortunate chance he hit another reef and manage to limp to port.
Since these incidence we have rebuilt the legs and gear box on both engine.
Since then have had multiple gear box damage occurring with load and without load.
Question is would i be correct in assuming the crack shaft is damaged? and would be transferring a wobble through the drive shaft causing quicker ware and tear on the gears than normal til the point of cracking?
