Commander tach warning messages

Just bought a used Steiger with a 2005 DF 250 with Commander tachometer by Faria. The fuel management functions work fine but it does not perform the self test as described in the manual from the past owner. I do not know if the engine warning functions are operational. Asked at local Suzuki dealer and was told my model tachometer does not have the engine monitoring or warning system and would have install a separate gauge and harness for those functions. Just confused as to why the manual has those functions for the tach listed and the dealer states my model tach does not support the functions.
