I just got my new motor. I was told it came out of dealer stock and was only advised that it is 2008 or newer. Can someone tell me the date of manufacture or model year?
The dealership told me that they no longer assign model years because it devalues unsold engines. Said Suzuki switched to S/N only in the last couple of years. I assume you can still get the date of manufacture??
Thats bloody wrong. ok so what happens when you go to sell your motor in a few years time you advertise it as a 2010 motor .
New owner checks up and finds that the motor that you sold in good faith believing that it is a 2010 is really a 2008 who gets kicked it the pants you or suzuki ?
They should be the same as cars they should have a run out of old stock .
there must be a register of ser numbers other wise parts would be impossible with any changes that have occured.
did you have a look at suzzys site or phone another dealer with the ser no you have and ask them what year the donk is
OK, so I guess that his explanation about them no longer using model years is incorrect... I am told that my new motor is a 2011. I was given the 6 year extended protection also and 2011 appears on the contract.
