water alarm wont shut off until I start moving and the rev limiter wont let me excellerate until water light is out. Once that happens everything seems fine, until the next time.there is a steady stream from the tell tale nozzle

I have the same issue on my 1988 DT140. Only my water light does NOT turn off. It is constantly on & rev limit doesn't let me get over 2500-3000 RPM's. I replaced the water pump, nothing has changed. Now I am ordering a water sensor. I don't know what else could be the issue other than the Engine Control Unit which is over $2000! Any thoughts or ideas? BTW, not that I recommend it but I turned off the alarm by unplugging the blue wire in throttle box, it'll at least ease the ear splitting pain for a short time. But of course that is not solving anything.
