Hi,
I have a 1988 Suzuki DT55 that is is producing as much as 15.6 volts while on plane, but at idle, 12.7-13.2 volts. I only use the boat for 30 minutes or so at a time. The battery starts the motor easily. Usually the main problem with these motors is not charging. Do I need a new voltage regulator? I bought a Suzuki DT55-65 Factory Service Manual, but there is no mention about the charging system. Guess it is in an addendum I didn't buy.
Can anyone help me? How is a voltage regulator tested?
