I recently installed the Suzuki Engine Interface and a 4" SMIS gauge on my twin 2005 DF250s. The primary application is for fuel consumption. Apart from the initial calibration being way off the system works fine about 75% of the time. About 25% of the time I get the following CheckSum Error message and all my settings are reset forcing me to redefine # of engines, # tanks, fuel source etc all over again.

As you can imagine it is very frustrating.
The issue only occurs intermittently on starting the motors (which powers the network) or powering the NMEA 2000 network with the motors off. The latter auxiliary powering scenario appears to eliminate the problem being a power dip issue messing with the electronics. I power my NMEA 2000 network using the Suzuki quad power node that performs an "OR" on three power sources with auxiliary taking priority. My batteries are in good shape, the voltage at the dash appears solid, and all the rest of my electronics is working fine.
The following is a diagram of my setup.

I Googled a similar issue here with no resolution: I-Command checksum error - Owners Message Board
Can anyone help me troubleshoot this? (I am an electronic engineer so please do not worry about being too technical with your suggestions).
Thanks for your help.
