Hi guys, I recently picked up a 1987 DT8 and I am having some issues with it starting. It will fire up on the first or second pull for initial start up but it will usually stall if it is cold but then it takes forever of pulling it to get it to start again. Once it starts it runs and idles good. Also once you run it for a little bit say to a fishing hole and try to start it after sitting for 15/20 minutes it starts really hard again. This is my first outboard so any suggestions would be very appreciated. Also does anyone know roughly where the air/fuel adjustment should be that is located on the tiller handle? Previous owner painted over or removed any decal that says which way is which.
