Inexperienced Suzuki owner: water Pump repair

Having recently taken my boat into a sandy-silty area, noticed that my "tell-tale" has diminished, and become erratic. I want to check its impeller, but frankly, don't know where it is! This is an 8 hour old CF 6 Suzuki 4 Cycle, and service potentials here in S.E. Michigan stink...no places good to take it.

Please advise. Thanks. PS...any repair advice would be welcome too.

It takes some pretty severe conditions to damage a large rubber impeller...stick some wire up the pee hole with the engine running to clear any blockage first...it really takes a lot of debris to damage the impeller, but not so much to block the pee hole
