Help...bout to shoot this 115hp jet

OK....Problem #1: It starts right up, runs for 30 seconds and quits. It will start right up and repeat the process. I put it in gear and get it some throttle and it will run, drop it into neutral and it dies.
Problem #2: Is this thing supposed to pee like other outboards with props? No water is coming out of this thing like my 25hp merc. I kept it on the trailer and ran it in gear (no throttle, just in gear). When I pulled it out the shaft was hot to the touch.
I know very little about outboards, and even less about jets.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like you need a water pump/impeller being a jet or prop has nothing to do with the power head so it should pump water. i wouldn't even think about running that motor again before i put a pump in it. get a book its pretty straight forward.
