High idle in neutral

Is there a rev limit for a df175 in neutral, and if there is what is it? I hit about 2800 and the motor will start to misfire when I slowly try to rev it up.

Yes there is if you go over 2500rpm in neutral the ECU will drop injectors out and timing will be fixed at 8 deg 1500 is ample for flushing.
