Hi I am new to this board but am told that you guys are the best!
I have a 2011 df140 with about 400 hours. I have an intermittant problem where the engine starts and runs fine until you hit 3000rpm then it hesitates and skips like it is limiting the revs to under 3000 and sounds a single beep of about 2 seconds. sometimes it will do it right away and other times it will run well and get up on plane and run perfect for a long time until I stop and try to get up on plane again, then it will beep and limit the rpm to 3000 or under. Here is what I have done.
-Changed the water fuel separator
-replaced the fuel filter
-ran the engine on a seperate tank to rule out fuel tank issues
-took off the cowling and measured engine temp while running on plane and at idle, and got a range of 135-157 at the hottest
-unscrewed the two exhuast temp sensors from the block and ran with them plugged in but not screwed in to the block
- ran with exhuast sensors disconnected
-ran with cowling off
-checked for the corrosion issue and all looks perfect
- replaced the water pump 2 months ago and ran great for 50 hours ince with no issues
Again I only get a single beep of about 2 seconds and limit of rpms to 3000. It seems to happen more often when the motor has been ran for awhile???
Please help
