The shift linkage on my df140 is very hard to shift and has locked up over the winter for the second time. The first time the dealership had to free it using penetrating oil. This lasted for two years but it did it again this year. I was able to free it up pretty well by pouring synthetic reel oil down the shaft where it goes down thru the housing to where it comes out above the lower unit but can't see where it is binding. Although it is now useable it feels like metal on metal grinding. Any ideas? Also, when the motor is idling in gear on the hose it makes some small clunking noises. Above idle speed it is fine.
