  • Fuel Question

I just bought a boat with a 2011 225 four stroke. Wondering what grade of fuel to run and if they normally come equipped with ethanol resistant fuel lines??

Yep, they'll run on regular unleaded, even if it's polluted with corn juice. No more than 10%, of course. I like to use ethanol-free, but it isn't so easy to find in most of the country. But you can check availability here Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada.

Just be sure if you use ethanol-laced gas that you don't let it sit in the tank for months on end, thus encouraging condensation and phase separation. If you live in a cold climate, and store your boat for the winter, as part of your winterizing, it's best to either drain the tank and fuel system of any ethanol-laced gasoline, or alternatively, make sure you store the boat with your tank full, to discourage condensation as much as possible.

Suzuki OEM manual recommends 91 octane but 87 octane is acceptable.
