Just bought a boat with a 1997 dt75 outboard. It has been sitting since October 2011. A little over a year
.
I drained the gas from the carbs, and it was green and smelled bad.
i hooked up fresh gas from a separate tank, and pumped clean fuel through the carbs while the drain screws were open. The two top carbs drained clean, but the bottom one wont flush clean.
Anyway, i tried to fire it up with choke on, and it fires up after several attemps, but only the top cylinder is firing. It will idle without dying once it gets going.
I tried spraying dw40 in the bottom cylinders while running, didnt have ether, and they didnt fire.
While engine is running, i can unplug.the bottom cylinders and no change. Once the top gets unplugged it turned off.
I checked compression, and i was impressEd that it was an even 125psi in all three.
anyway to clean carbs without taking them off? Where is the fuel pump located?
On boats.net, what does their carb kit include? Is one kit per carb, or one kit for all three?
Any help appreciated
