Bolt size question for tie rod

I'm in the process of hooking up a panther tie bar setup from my DF140 to a kicker motor and need to connect a bracket to the front of the motor. There are two rubber plugs that cap holes on the steering arm and according to the suzuki manual they are "supposed" to be a M12 thread size bolt. I picked up some of that size and while the diameter is correct, the threads on the steering arm look to be finer than the M12.

Can anyone confirm the size of these bolts? I'm reluctant to go in and try to make it fit when it seems wrong.

I think they are 3/8-24 fine thread bolt
