lower unit overfill

Ok everyone can have a good laugh at my sake, but I sent my 17 yr old son out to change the gear oil in the lower unit of my dt75, after my explaning to him how to go about it, he drains the oil put the lower cap back on tight and takes the hand pump and pumps oil into the lower unit, now oil is comming out of the top of my lower unit, anychance that he just had some blow by past the seals or is a pretty good chance he blew them out compleetly, by the way 17yr male free to good home

If he put more than about 18 lbs of pressure on it then probably blew out seals, either way probably wouldn't hurt to drop lower unit and check it out.
