Just a little clarification. Even by raising the engine up as recommended, while sitting in the water, the cav. plate will be under water. Once you plane up, you will see the water flow hitting the underneath part of the cav. plate. You do not want the cav. plate under the water when running on plane. Have a great day!

Fitted a new throttle position sensor yesterday after putting it off for ages for various reasons
I am now happy to say I have free revving motor with max rpm @5300
the cav plate is at the correct depth and the boat is a missile
Still think the motor may be a bit small due to the lack of trim adjustment but I can live with what I now have - a useable boat for offshore fishing
