1987 dt40c

I have a 1987 dt40c that has blown powerhead I found a late 80s dt30 powerhead and want to know if it will interchange with the 40hp powerhead before i buy it the 35hp is off running engine with broken lower unit anyone know if this will work??

Never tried it but it doesn't look like it would work.
