I put ear muffs of my lower unit and started the motor. I let it sit in neutral for approx 15 minutes. When i touched the water pee'ing from the motor it was HOT. Very HOT. is that normal when using ear muffs?

It will get hot but ear muffs is not good test for cooling system, needs to be in water. -
I had the same issue with my DF70... put it in a barrel and the pee stream was much stronger and the water was cool.Comment

I just ran my 2012 DF150 with the dual feed muffs and had a pee-stream. After about 15 minutes, the over temp alarm came on and the motor shut down. I just can't put enough water to the motor to keep it cool. I'm getting a large box with a drain valve for all future flushing.Comment

it happened to me as well on my df 140 the alarm went on and next time round I flushed the motor in a large container and pee stream was much much coolerComment

I'll just flush in the tub until the thermostat opens and then change the water so its cleaner to finish with a salt-free flush.Comment
