I ordered a CDI unit. When the new one came in, it looks nothing like the old. Its about half the size and only has 4 wire and a ground, where the old unit has 6 wires and a ground. I called the warehouse and they say this is the correct unit. Does this sound correct? If so, there is a red and black wire on the new unit that doesnt match any of the other wires.

Recheck serial number to make sure it is a 1984 model.

did you ever get this figured out? i just had the same thing happen to me and i am stumped
