  • fuel issue

I have a fully rebuilt 1986 Suzuki dt75 (new fuel pump) it all works fine when operating on external fuel tanks on the deck but doesn't run properly on the under deck fuel tank. does anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking about installing a low pressure inline fuel pump? has anyone done this before??? or have any suggestions??

When you say it doesn't run properly what is it actually doing? Is it starving of fuel and dying out or hard to start etc. need a bit more info first really to be able to give you any suggestions

well its just coughing out, starving of fuel I guess. it starts and runs fine again after pumping the primer bulb a few times just seems like the fuel pump is having trouble sucking the fuel all the way from the tank,

Does the fuel line primer bulb colaspe when misfiring, if so there is a restriction in the fuel ine between the primer bulb and the fuel tank or the tank vent line is plugged.

If the bulb does not colaspe there may be a vacuum leak between the bulb and the fuel pump.
