Suzuki DF50 2004 water leak

Hi a newbie here.
I've recently bought a Suzuki DF50 2004 outboard, with the engine running and ear muffs on water leaks out of the joint between the gearbox and middle unit and also around the rod that enters the gearbox just below the mounting bracket.Is this normal ? Thanks.

Yes exhaust water will run out all drain holes and joints on gearcase.
