DT50 no reverse gear 1980

Hi to you all I am new to this forum and really hoping for help in sorting out the reverse gear problem on my DT50

. I have had the gear case apart more times then I can count. initially the pin had sheared on the dog clutch and have replaced it but i still can not get reverse.took it apart again to check pin was OK(it was ) I have disconnected the linkage and can move the shift lever forward and back by hand therefore proving that it is not a linkage problem, selecting forward and neutral but no reverse. Help much appreciated.

When have gearcase off shift by hand to see if engaging in gear, if not there would have to be a problem with shifter, clutch dog or gear.
