  • Water in Oil Problem with DF 90

I have a 2001 DF90 with less than 200 hrs. I noticed some water in the oil. It was running fine, with no problems. I can't seem to get any of the local dealers (in MA) to look at it for 3 weeks!

    Thoughts? Questions?

Looking @ the shop manual, there is no oil cooler in the DF90. There is one in the DF140, where all of the problems were reported.
      Thanks though.

Had same problem with a DF60

It ended up being a small hole corroded in the head around one of the cylinders, I was lucky, a good head shop was able to fill it in.

With the manual it was really easy to tear the motor down, I had run into the same issue with marina's and mechanics.. Not to mention their estimates where in the $2000.00 range, it ended up costing my less then $300.00 plus about 5 hours labor.

          White Streaks on Dip Stick

I noticed small white streaks on my oil dip stick after a oil change. The oil I removed showed normal. I did an oil change and noticed these white streaks after just 3 hours of run time.

Filter is tight and the drain plug is tight.

          Thoughts?

I have a DF115 with water in oil. Turned out to be a block breather pipe. I was lucky.
