  • Prop Size and Tilt

    Hi All,

I have what I hope is a simple question. I have a 14' Glasstron fishing boat with a DT40 outboard engine. I got into a shallow spot and banged up the prop pretty good. I am looking for the best size and tilt for a new prop for my boat size. I see options fron 11 1/8" diameter up to 12" and tilts from 17 to 10. Any help would be much appreciated

Propellers are mostly trial and error. You need to have a starting point. Then you can work from there. For overall performance you want to get as close to the rpm limit with out going over. For every 1 pitch down you will gain 200-300 rpms and visa-versa.
