  • 1984 DT75 Carb Sync?

I'm a newbie here and I'm hoping someone could answer a question for me. I just recently purchased a non running dt75. I checked compression and all three run 112-118. I rebuilt the carbs and now it runs great. I'm trying to synce the carbs and the gages I have are bouncing all over the place and I cant get a reading. Are there special 2 stroke gages that I need to use? What would cause all three air inlet ports to make the Gage bounce like that? maybe bad reeds? but it runs great...help

To sync a two stroke, you back the idle screw all the way out. close all the butterflies (manualy, with adjustment screw) then screw the idle screw back in. Start motor and adjust the idle from there.

There is only one idle screw, usually where all the carbs are linked together around the back throttle butterflies. If you havent changed/messed with the linkages between the carbs, you should not have to sync the carbs, only if someone has changed the adjustments on the linkages between the carbs.

what problem are you having with running?

        post back when able.

Thanks for the reply. It has a really high idle which no matter how much you turn the idle screws down it does not change. Was thinking the carbs arent synced. Carby has been pulled apart and cleaned so i know its not that. Only just got the engine so trying to figure it out instead of paying someone cheers...
