i have 2004 df140 ,turn key to start it beeps before it starts, sometimes it wont beep so it wont start, just started doing this 2 months ago and has gotten worse?

The beep is a test of the warning buzzer. If it doesn't beep you likely have a problem with the switch or a poor connection between the motor and the control. When you turn the switch on you should also see the tachometer needle swing up a bit and back down to zero. This tells the engine hours using a code listed in your owners manual. If the tach does not do this I would suspect the key switch. Just a guess. -
check the "famous" white wire, make sure it is connected to the battery and the connection is nice and clean (and tight)Comment

wires are corroded
Look under the dash, there are two brown wires, one has a stripe. They can pull apart and are in a plastic protectctor. Separate them and clean. That should be it. I had the same issue one spring.Comment
