Maf/MAP sensors How often do these go bad?? What would cause two to just go bad at the same time on dual motors? how long does it take the ECu to figure out that they are bad and stop running the motor?

Mornin', kurttruk.....(did I get that backwards?).......
MAF sensor and MAP sensor are two different animals, but I don't believe that a bad MAF or MAP sensor would cause the ECM to shut down the motor. The MAF sensor might, if it's bad enough, but normally either one going bad would just cause rough running, and might cause a stall, or even a no-start but it wouldn't be the ECM "shutting down," but a result of the mix being too rich or too lean for the engine to run right or run at all. The MAF sensor, if it's just dirty, can be cleaned with a MAF sensor cleaner, available at any auto parts store. MAP sensor, if bad, would likely need replacing. A problem with either one should show a code when hooked up to diagnostics. And it seems unlikely to me that the same thing would go bad on two different motors at the same time.Mike
