Dt 85 rough running

I have sorted out my over heating problem and gear problems but the engine still sounds lumpy. Some times back fires and sometimes cuts out. I have cleaned out the carbs, what else can I do?

If spits back through carbs then still have plugged jets or passages in carbs making it run too lean.

It is backfiring thought the exhaust. Any ideas?

Could be timing, check to make sure that wires for the coils are going to the right places. Also verify that the powerpack wires are connected correctly. How loud is the backfire, could just be a lean pop. If this is the case, you will need to remove the carburetors and thoroughly clean.
