Df40-50 throttle remote earth question?

I'm about to stripp down the throttle remote assembly on my boat.
The question is that reason why I am doing this is to chase a earthing issue I currently have with my sounder and I wanted to know if anyone of you have had experience in stripping a remote throttle unit down and if so, is there any earth/grouned points of contact within this unit?

Not on Mercury, Yamaha or Honda. I have not had a Suzi remote apart yet. Check with an ohm meter (Battery+ disconected) between neg terminal & remote???
