  • DT65 Lower Unit removal

    Howdy, I have a 1997 DT65 with a prop. I'm trying to separate the lower unit to change the impeller. I have all eight bolts removed, and the clutch shaft and rod detached. According to my SELOC manual, this should be it, and it should drop. It will not budge. I can pry on it and get it to move a little, but I feel like there is something else that needs to be removed, loosened????? I have read that the shaft might be rusted in place. Am I missing something? Would it come apart easier if I ran it for 10 minutes to warm the whole thing up? Thanks!

    Figured this one out - there is one more bolt hidden right in front of the anode above the prop. Job done - cooling is spot on!
