Clakking noise

I have a 50HP Suzuki 4-stroke. Think I hit a piece of wood. The propellar sounded like it disengaged momentarily. Had the propellar checked. Its fine. There is now an intermittent clakking noise when I get up to about 25mph. Any thoughts as to what might be wrong? Other then the noise, the engine runs just as well.

Could have broken some teeth off in the lower unit.

I've had some noise like that, I thought it was the lower unit and turned out to be bad gas or water in the gas...just a thought
