I have a 1999 DT150 and it has developed a charging problem. For the first 15 minutes of operation, the voltage is about 13.5V with minimal load. After that, it drops to 12.7 (battery voltage) and slowly drops. I have noticed this on the past two trips. Would this be the stator or the regulator/rectifier?

Is the battery charged or running flat, from what you are saying it seems alright . -
Well, after a few hours the battery voltage drops to 11.0 volts. I ran it on the hose tonight for 5 minutes and it seems to be fine. It appears that this could be a heat-related problem? Any help would be much appreciated.Comment

It could be stator or regulator, need to have them both tested.Comment
