how to find year of a powerhead

i purchased a poerhead from a dealer.they say its from a dt 150 s and that its an 88 model.my 88 model has a diffrent kind of head.is there a serial number anywhere on this thing

I am less familiar with the Suzuki serial number locations, however most manufacturers locate a serial number on a freeze plug on the motor.
