I have a set of 2005 Suzuki DF 250 (SN:25001F-511793 and 25001Z-510207) that I need lower gear cases/housings for. Last winter a hard freeze cracked both them which I had repaired but this summer electrolysis got to them and as I was cleaning them up I noticed both welds were cracked.
I found one gear case/housing but the seller doesn't have the part number and won't take the time to find it. His ad states it will fit a 250 or 300. It does not appear in the photo to be the same style lower as mine, looks to have more of a point on it as opposed to the round torpedo shape. I read that the design changed in 2007 and figure that's what I'm seeing. Long shot, but will the newer lower model gear case/housing work on my motor?
Second, do they make a housing based on rotation or does the counter rotation take place in the gears? Do I have to buy a normal rotating and a CR housing?
Third, anyone have or know where to find a couple used housings?
Thanks,
Bryan
