Default DF 140 Interface Cable.........help

I have a 04 DF 140, I have been using a Lowrance interface cable hooked up to LMF 200 Lowrance gauge, primarily for the fuel info.

3 weeks ago it quit working?????? Worked when I shut the motor off, an hour later it would not come on, I have had this happen before and sometimes I would need to restart the motor several times before the gauge and the motor would start talking to each other again...........THis time no luck...

Tried a soft reset, tried a hard reset, gauge says "no bus on system", so I check cables, yada-yada, everthing ok there. Decided to replace the interface cable and come to find out they have changed in 2008 and now must buy through a Suzie dealer, which is ok.

To my understanding I could buy a cable with the pre-2008 round connector or one with a square connector and or a adaptor.(some confusion there)........I needed one with a red NEMA 2000 connector.

Ordered one from Blue Heron (will never do that again), it shows up square with a red connector? cant use it...........

Questions:
Are the ones w/the red NEMA available in a round connector?
If not can I use one with a NEMA blue connector on a NEMA red connector system?
Are the round connector versions still available? or do I have to use the square to round adaptor?
Does anyone have a phone number for the Blue Heron Turkeys?

Thanks, John

is this what you are looking for

Engines after 2008 (DF40 to DF250)

In 2008 the communication connectors inside the engine were changed from the previous 8-pin round housing to a 4-pin square housing. A Suzuki adapter, model 990C0-88035, is needed to convert the engine interface plug from the old round shape to the new square shape. Also in 2008, the engine wiring harness was changed so that the engine interface can now be connected either inside the engine or under the dash. Connecting under the dash makes for a simpler installation. A Suzuki technical bulletin is posted below that shows the new connection method in detail for each engine model.

Whether you connect in the engine or in the dash, you will have to separate two connectors in the engine housing. If you are going to make the interface connection in the engine housing, you then attach one of these connectors to the Suzuki adapter and then to the engine interface cable. If you are going to make the interface connection under the dash, you attach one of these connectors to a spare connector found in the housing, which then leads up to the dash area. The Suzuki technical bulletin posted below shows where these connectors are located inside the engine housing for each engine model.

That is the part I ordered from Blue Heron? they failed to mention I needed a square to round adaptor. And now they are unresponsive, no phone number, will not reply to emails since last friday, they have their little chat box that is unattended............so, learned my lesson there, will only deal with people that have a phone, I mean com-on, geezus and cripes tooo.

I have had the Lowrance interface connected at the motor, to the ECU and the trim control. Are you saying the older motors (pre 08) also have a plug on the control box end as well? Thought that was only on the newer motors.........?

Mitch,
I did, apperantly they have dscontinued the interface with the round plug, and a adaptor is required to go from square back to round,
To my understanding the adaptors are not available yet...........Blue Heron is a waste of time...............since friday they have not responded to e-mails, they have a chat box that is continously offline, they do not have a phone number....never again will I do buisness with them or a outfit that doesnt have a phone...................what a joke ##sholes is what they are..............

I have spoken to these folks Suzuki Marine Outboard Parts & Accessories - Browns Point Marine Service and they seem helpful and reasonable
